--- >I have the deepest admiration for those who compose music, and also for those who play an instrument. Music is a wonderful art form, because its vibrations reach the heart; they can change our mood in many ways, lifting our spirits or having the opposite effect. --- ![20260606_000650.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/23zSC4SzNZk9dU78ZrdFodLriQvqe3RB9j3CfCrk156Evr6jgskRvS33q4M4QL2ezveBs.jpg) --- When people compose music, whether they play an instrument or not, it is like painting a blank canvas; I suppose the melodies sound in their heads just as colours appear in the minds of painters. All art forms are beautiful, because they all spring from inspiration, creativity and, I believe, the soul itself. I remember telling my friend Claudia, who plays the piano and the guitar, that I didn’t know how to play any instrument but that I felt the music in my heart, and she replied that that’s what counts. Almost a month ago, I heard about an unusual exhibition, as I’d never been to a show about female composers from Málaga before. I should point out that I know nothing about sheet music or musical notes, but I love music and I see the creative process as something incredible. ---
![20260423_184305.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/AJpmm15VFSJr47fd73Jdzu3V2FwS1ZBQ2V6Aw4wMDdZRYWbELuxzYLL9PV6e5Ra.jpg)
![20260423_184315.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/23uQvwfEnQsbdbVQgjd6Cw4oqp5AYePX6VWojVquTErWba6AQMxWnhXn4iBpJu2LbcX2C.jpg) ![20260423_184400.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/23uR168mj5FFEtxKtdPYVBnoh9YGDeJ4Ef6NXVsW4rwSgsKPwYm5vYKPdP3x6bJW9V2kP.jpg) ![20260423_184407.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/23x1FktPui7VSfSMCr3F6aZdQkrSuxwoubxyX2QxTiK5nwrd5cGSrtc6pup6dS6CUDKLs.jpg)
![20260423_184414.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/AKAs2eQ2ubjjNbofEKW11FVhYFxP3pLLXwozdkpHBdFbmp1g6vKPNMmgJ5Ex5Xn.jpg)
![20260423_185200.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/23u6DRZDB522bbkcGN1hVUpFcuM2DwN7oeoPATNF4gM4MKJpNqxVa9Z6qzf4WZmDQ5Adu.jpg) --- The exhibition was held at the Municipal Archive, which hosts around two or three exhibitions a year, so I couldn’t miss it and went during the first few days of the opening. I wanted to find out what it was all about. There were two rooms dedicated to various female composers, and the exhibition featured a wide variety of works, ranging from paintings and drawings that adorned the space, some of which were portraits, to the composers’ sheet music, display cases filled with various artefacts, and even a darkroom where visitors could step inside, sit down and enjoy a range of sounds. Everything was designed to create a profound auditory experience, and I loved that. ---
![20260423_185332.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/AKCJxQw25U2YY1mEwYnWkQVHX5FC2KmAqazUafFmCmhSfMztKRZXUfZbG7m4nrF.jpg)
![20260423_185341.jpg](https://files.peakd.com/file/peakd-hive/avdesing/23tHTKTe7BSzHuM3peo4nvyaG7kHdRtdDm7x6Gr21PrhVxLUHDzjiPA7QqLLWwzAk2odC.jpg) --- A journey through the role of women in the history of musical creation from the 19th century to 20th-century composers. The focus is on leadership, cultural management skills and creative power. This exhibition is a wonderful tribute. The rooms looked brilliant with their white walls, and then, for example, the sheet music was framed in black. A very elegant and very well presented exhibition. On different walls of the room, one of the female composers was featured; they are: Alicia Terrón, Reyes Oteo, Mari Luz Chamorro, Silvia Olivero, Carolina Cerezo and Diana Péres Custodio. I must say that the decoration with paintings from the municipal heritage collection was excellent, perfectly suited to the exhibition, very delicate and unusual works. And I must mention that both rooms were filled with informati […]
